1. One of the most comprehensive adult continuing education programs in Indianapolis is the Community Learning Network at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. The program offers a wealth of career-related classes, as well as classes in fitness, arts and crafts, personal finance and foreign language. You can pursue certificates in a wide variety of professional and computer-related topics (such as accounting, medical coding and UNIX), as well as in photography, interior decorating and floral design. Classes are held all over the city, so you can choose the location and time that works best for you.
2. If you want to explore an artistic medium, your best bet is the Indianapolis Art Center. The center offers a year-round schedule of classes and workshops, which range from 15-week classes to one-weekend workshops. Topics include painting and drawing, ceramics, photography, glass-blowing, sculpture and much more.
3. Some adult continuing education classes allow you to explore the traditional arts and crafts of simpler times, such as weaving and blacksmithing.
