Scholarship Summer Programs For High School Students

High school students can apply for summer scholarship programs hosted by colleges and universities.

Enrichment programs allow high school students to spend their summers studying at a college or university with like-minded peers. For students who meet the often selective application requirements, full scholarships are available for many of these residential and day programs. Students accepted into a summer enrichment program can gain valuable educational experience, along with exposure to a variety of careers.

QuestBridge College Prep Scholarship Program

QuestBridge is a nonprofit organization that offers up to 10 full scholarships to low-income high school students to attend to summer programs. Questbridge's College Prep Scholarship program is a partnership with several colleges and universities. Students apply directly to Questbridge for programs at Harvard, Emory, Notre Dame, the University of Pennsylvania, Yale and Stanford. Ten students are chosen to receive counseling in support of their application. If they are accepted to the summer program, they receive a scholarship that covers tuition, room and board and travel expenses. Questbridge applicants must have excellent academic records, be in the top five to 10 percent of their class, write an essay and submit a teacher recommendation. Since the program began, 100 percent of Questbridge students have been accepted by summer programs.
