Downtown Memphis has a variety of restaurants.
Memphis, Tennessee's downtown district rests on the bluffs that overlook the Mississippi River. The city has been named the "Bluff City" for this reason. Downtown Memphis is home to blues clubs on the renowned Beale Street, and the FedEx Forum, home of the Memphis Grizzlies basketball franchise. Charles Vergos' Rendezvous
Charles Vergos' Rendezvous lies on South 2nd Street, across from the Holiday Inn Select Downtown, and combines a casual ambiance with blues-themed artwork on the walls. This renowned barbecue restaurant has been featured on the Travel Channel and The Food Network, and was named as one of the "Top 5 Best BBQ Joints in America" by Esquire magazine in 1999. Rendezvous is open for lunch on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as dinner on Tuesdays through Saturdays; closed on Sundays. The menu at Rendezvous features barbecue platters including the world-famous Rendezvous charcoal-broiled pork ribs and beef brisket. Beer and house wines are available. Rendezvous offers take-out services and facilities for private parties. The restaurant is completely smoke-free.

The Arcade Restaurant
The Arcade Restaurant is located in Downtown Memphis' South Main Historic District, approximately 10 minutes driving distance from the riverfront Lee Park. Established in 1919, this Greek-style restaurant has the distinction of being Memphis' oldest cafe. The diner-style establishment has a casual atmosphere with nostalgic photos and Memphis-themed memorabilia spread throughout the restaurant. Arcade is open for breakfast and lunch daily. The breakfast menu features pancakes and country fried steak, while the lunch menu has sandwiches including A Memphis Thang, with smoked turkey and brie, and The Famous Arcade Cheeseburger. Arcade's also has a venue for live music and facilities for private parties.

Automatic Slim's Tanga Club
Automatic Slim's Tanga Club is on Downtown Memphis' 2nd Street, less than a mile from the Memphis Redbirds baseball stadium. This dining establishment has locations in Memphis and New York. The restaurant has an upbeat atmosphere with colorful exterior and interior decorations. Automatic Slim's is open for lunch during the weekdays and dinner on Mondays through Saturdays; closed on Sundays.
