Instructions For The Rival 18quart Roaster Oven

Instructions for the Rival 18-Quart Roaster Oven

Rival's 18-quart roaster oven can be used for cooking beef roasts, ham, pork roasts, chicken and turkeys. Rival roaster ovens are portable options for cooking or warming foods that need to be transported or for keeping foods warm during parties. Rival roasters that have buffets server accessories can be used to heat and keep warm three different foods, which makes the roaster an ideal appliance for banquet-type settings. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Prepare the roaster for use. Wash all its parts, including the removable roaster pan, removable wire rack, removable buffet serving frame and dishes, and the cover. If this is the first time you are using the roaster, assemble the cover. Use the two screws to attach the cover handle to the cover. Screw down the handle so it is tight.

2. Place the removable roasting pan inside the bottom of the roaster. If using the roaster to cook meats, place the removable wire rack inside the roaster pan. If warming foods with the buffet server, omit the wire rack and place the buffet server in the roaster. The server frame rests on the roaster pan.

3. Keep the temperature control in the "Off" position until you plug in the unit. After plugging in the Rival roaster, preheat the roaster for 20 minutes to the desired temperature that you need for cooking or warming your dish.

4. Place the food in the roaster. Place the cover on the roaster. Follow the roasting or cooking time in the recipe booklet for cooking meats and other food items. For instance, cooking a 14 to 22 pound turkey at 350 degrees F takes nine to 14 minutes per pound. Any time you cook meat in a roaster, use a meat thermometer to check the doneness of the meat before serving it.

5. Warm foods in the buffet server by placing 4 cups of water in the roasting pan underneath the buffet server frame and dish. The steam helps keep the food warm. Keep the cover on the roaster at all times when not serving food to keep the heat inside.

6. Finish cooking or warming foods and turn off the temperature control. Unplug the roaster power cord from the outlet.

7. Wash the removable parts of the roaster right away to prevent drying and unnecessary scrubbing. Use a soft damp cloth to wipe the outside of the roaster, but never submerge the roaster base in water.
