Homemade Turkey Burgers

Homemade Turkey Burgers

Turkey burgers are an excellent alternative to beef burgers. When properly prepared, turkey burgers are juicy, flavorful and satisfying, just like their red meat counterparts, but are typically healthier and lower in calories and fat. Since most grocery stores carry ground turkey, it's easy to make homemade turkey burgers at home. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

Make turkey burgers

1. Mix together turkey, breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, pepper, garlic and parsley in a large bowl. Knead the mixture until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

2. Form the mixture into four evenly-sized patties. Patties should each be approximately 1/2-inch thick. Then set aside patties on a clean plate.

3. Put the olive oil in skillet, place on the stove at medium heat and let it heat up for a few minutes. Once hot, move the skillet gently from side to side so that the olive oil completely covers the bottom of the pan.

4. Add the raw turkey burger patties to the hot skillet. Cook for approximately three to four minutes until golden brown, and then flip using the spatula. Cook for an additional three to four minutes on the other side until golden brown.

5. Use the meat thermometer to make sure that the internal temperature of each patty has reached 185 degrees.

6. Place cooked burgers onto a clean plate and serve.
