Wells crosses the Chicago River, where great restaurants can be found on either side
Wells Street, one of the downtown streets of Chicago, cuts through The Loop, River North and Old Town. Many tourist spots are located on Wells, but there are a few restaurants that both tourists and residents frequent. Whether you're looking for a date spot or a place to take the kids, Wells Street has restaurants for everybody.
Lou Malnati's
Many downtown pizzeria's claim to be the home of Chicago's deep dish style, but none compare to Lou Malnati's. In addition to thick cheese, peppers and spices added to the pizza for extra hot flavor. Other Italian favorites are included on the menu, and a full bar is available. Reservations are accepted at Lou Malnati's, and are encouraged for large parties. Take-out and delivery service is also offered.

Kamehachi
One of the most popular date restaurants on Wells Street is Kamehachi. The restaurant's specialty is sushi, which is always fresh and never too fishy. Other Asian dishes are offered, as well as a full bar with multiple sake options. Kamehachi is open late, until midnight on Sundays, and until 2 a.m. the rest of the week. Valet service is available, as is take-out or delivery service. Reservations are recommended, especially on the weekends.

Hannah's
For urban explorers who want a quick but tasty sandwich on the go, Hannah's is a downtown favorite. No waiter service is available, nor are reservations accepted, but Hannah's has lovely outdoor seating. Fresh ingredients on pretzel bread make this restaurant a busy lunch stop. Delivery and take-out service is available, but Hannah's is only open until 7 p.m., so make it an early dinner at Hannah's for excellent downtown sandwiches.
